Terms of Service

This page is a general terms draft and should be reviewed by legal counsel before commercial launch.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the GrieveLocal platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not access or use the platform.

2. Description of Service

GrieveLocal is a digital grievance management platform that enables union members, stewards, business agents, and local leadership to file, track, assign, sign, and manage grievances. The platform includes member, steward, and business agent portals, electronic signatures, notifications, employee file management, reporting, and a training environment.

3. Authorized Union Use

GrieveLocal is licensed for use by recognized union locals and their authorized members, stewards, business agents, and leadership. Use of the platform for purposes outside of legitimate union grievance management is prohibited.

4. User Accounts

Account holders are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for all activities that occur under their account. Accounts are assigned roles (member, steward, business agent, admin) that determine access levels within the platform.

5. Acceptable Use

Users agree not to misuse the platform, including attempting to access unauthorized data, interfering with platform operations, submitting false or fraudulent information, or using the platform to harass or discriminate against others.

6. Union Responsibility for Data

The union local is responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of grievance data, member information, and documentation entered into the platform. GrieveLocal serves as a data processor and does not assume responsibility for the content of grievance records.

7. Management Signature Workflow

Management does not receive a GrieveLocal account or platform access. Management acknowledgment and signatures are captured on the steward's device during the grievance process. The steward presents the grievance on their device, management reviews and signs, and the signed document is automatically generated and stored. This ensures the union maintains control of the process while capturing management acknowledgment.

8. Intellectual Property

The GrieveLocal platform, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is the intellectual property of GrieveLocal. Grievance data and member information entered by users remain the property of the respective union local.

9. Subscription and Payment Terms

GrieveLocal is offered as a subscription service licensed per local union. Pricing is $100 per month or $1,100 per year. Payment terms and billing cycles are established at the time of subscription. Pilot partners may receive reduced pricing as agreed.

10. Service Availability

GrieveLocal strives to maintain high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, updates, and unforeseen technical issues may result in temporary downtime. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned maintenance.

11. Confidentiality

GrieveLocal maintains the confidentiality of grievance data, member information, and union records stored on the platform. We do not access, share, or disclose your local's data to third parties except as required by law or as authorized by the union local.

12. Limitation of Liability

GrieveLocal is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GrieveLocal shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the platform.

13. Termination

Either party may terminate the subscription with notice. Upon termination, the union local may request export of their grievance data. GrieveLocal reserves the right to suspend access for non-payment or violation of these terms.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the updated terms on this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms or the use of the platform shall be resolved through appropriate legal channels.

16. Contact Information
